Its main economic activities are agricultural, including coffee, corn, cabbage, sugar cane, and onions.
The El Derrumbo farm is Utz & Rainforest Alliance certified and was inherited by Nelsy Regalado when only 15 years old.
The coffee is 60% Pacas and 40% Catuai varietals which are shade grown under the canopy of orange, banana and pine trees. Only the ripest berries are picked for maximum sweetness.
The beans are wet processed for 24 hours and patio dried to 12% moisture.
Coffee pulp by-product is made into fertiliser with the use of californian red worms and the the mucilage is used to make a foliar fertiliser which helps to prevent coffee rust.
