Good coffee deserves to be served in a proper cup.

That’s why - unlike most lids - ours are designed to deliver the most natural drinking experience possible. Our patented 360° design lets you sip from any angle, with vents for releasing those all-essential aromas. We even have a transparent centrepiece, so you can enjoy the latte art that your barista so lovingly poured.

Leaky lids, fiddly bits, coffee that doesn’t taste quite right… Founder Eleanor had tried them all. She was working in sustainability, constantly on the move, and couldn’t find a cup that fit her life — or lived up to the values it claimed to support.

So she teamed up with her dad, Stewart — a product designer who loves solving problems. Together, they started sketching. Prototyping. Spilling coffee. And slowly, a better cup came to life.

We’ve built a small but mighty team, working from London and beyond. We’ve patented our 360° lid (yep — sip from any side), embedded smart tech inside our cups, and shipped topl to cafés, companies and customers around the world.

But we’re still fuelled by the same idea...

Make the best cup possible.

One that’s joyful to use, made to last, and clever enough to make reusables the easy choice.

🌀 360° open-lip sipping – tastes like your favourite ceramic mug

🔒 Leakproof and lockable – twist to sip, twist to seal

🧼 Easy to clean – lid comes apart into 3 simple parts

Our cups live on office desks. In backpacks. At the top of mountains. In the hands of baristas and brand merch teams and coffee lovers who want something that doesn’t just say “sustainable” — it feels it.

And when you actually want to use your cup, every day? That’s when change starts to stick.

We believe the best way to reduce waste is to make products people actually want to use — every day, for years to come.

Designed in the UK, our cups are made from premium materials that stand the test of time. We follow lean engineering principles, using free-floating parts that can be easily disassembled and fully recycled at the end of their life (ISO 14040 & 14044 compliant).

Our lids are made from 50% recycled plastic, and our cups from 90% recycled stainless steel — responsibly sourced, ethically made.

Why stainless steel? It’s endlessly recyclable, incredibly durable, and retains heat like a pro. That means less waste, fewer replacements, and a smaller carbon footprint compared to glass or ceramics.

Because making a better product means making a better impact.

How will my coffee be packaged?

We use heat sealed bags with a one-way valve (to let gases escape but none in) and this will keep your coffee fresh for up to four months unopened (if you really want to keep it that long!) We use box-bottomed resealable valve bags as our default but if you want the tall non-resealable valve bags then please ask in the notes for order section. We then pack your bags of coffee into bespoke cardboard boxes. These will prevent your coffee from being damaged in transit and are 100% recyclable.

Where does The Bean Shop deliver to?

We currently deliver all over the UK and Europe. It can get a bit tricky further afield than that as it becomes increasingly difficult to keep track on the parcel's whereabouts. To be honest there is probably a coffee roaster a bit closer if you're outside Europe anyway!

How much does postage cost?

No-one really likes paying for postage but in order to avoid increasing our prices we have opted to charge a flat-rate of £3.00 for all our UK orders. This is expensive if you only buy one bag of coffee but becomes very reasonable if you order more bags. We use Royal Mail 1st class for orders up to 3 bags. For orders 4 bags and over we use DPD 48 hour delivery as a default (this option will require a signature upon delivery.)

In geographically isolated areas of the UK, DPD can take longer than 48 hours so we have added the option of paying for Royal Mail which could be more efficient.

How long will it take?

We aim to deliver your order within 48 hours of receiving it (under normal circumstances) and are often much quicker! During peak periods (i.e. Christmas) your order may take a little longer due to delays or extreme weather conditions.

If I'm not in?

For orders of 1 bag of coffee our boxes are post-box friendly so should be delivered whether or not you're in. For larger parcels, usually the delivery person will leave a card saying it has been returned to the post depot where you can collect it from. Many customers find it easier to have their coffee delivered to their place of work so that there is always someone there to accept it.
